How to answer missed business calls without changing your number

A practical setup guide to forwarding unanswered calls to an assistant, testing the connection and knowing when it is ready.

If customers already call your business number, you can keep using it and forward calls you miss to an answering service. The key is to test the forwarding on your own phone before relying on it: carrier settings vary, and a saved forwarding code alone does not prove calls reach the right business.

Rasphia's phone setup can route forwarded calls to Yara, which answers within the configured limits and can take a message. Phone service must be connected for the feature to be ready. Call usage is counted in minutes, including any free minutes available to the account.

Before you start

You need access to the business phone's carrier settings and a business number verified on WhatsApp in Rasphia. Check the phone section in your business console. If the phone service is not connected, setup will say it is unavailable; contact Rasphia support or wait until the service is ready rather than assuming forwarding is active.

Decide whether you want the assistant to answer only missed calls or incoming calls more broadly. Set a short, factual instruction about your business and what the assistant may tell callers. Do not include passwords, payment credentials or private customer information.

Set up forwarding

  1. Open your business console and go to Phone.
  2. Open “Answer your missed calls,” choose the verified business number and select its mobile network.
  3. Ask Rasphia to show the forwarding codes. The codes depend on the selected network; use the ones shown in your account, not a code copied from an old online guide.
  4. Dial the codes from that SIM, or use your carrier's call-forwarding settings. Forward calls when you do not answer, when the line is busy, and when the phone is off or out of range if those are the situations you want covered.
  5. Turn on “Answer incoming calls” in the phone settings.
  6. Start the built-in test and let your phone ring without picking up. Wait for the test result.

The test can show that a call did not forward. If the carrier forwards the call but does not identify which number sent it, Rasphia may ask you to forward to your own Rasphia number so it can identify your business. Follow the result shown in the setup screen.

Check what the assistant can do

Call from another phone and let the call forward. Confirm that Yara gives an accurate greeting, answers only questions supported by your business information and takes a useful message. Check the call summary in your account afterward. Update the business details or instructions if the answer is unclear.

The assistant should not promise an appointment, quote an unlisted price or claim a payment has been made unless the system has confirmed it. Tell callers how to reach you for decisions that need your approval.

Know the limits

Forwarding depends on your carrier and the phone being configured correctly. It uses call minutes, and the setup screen may not be available until Rasphia's phone service is connected. If you change your business number or SIM, test forwarding again. Use the stop-forwarding instructions shown in your account if you want calls to stop reaching Rasphia.

Once the test passes and a real call reaches the right business, tell customers what the assistant can help with. Keep checking summaries so you notice missed routing or questions that need a better answer.
