How to take salon bookings online in India

A practical guide to listing salon services, showing appointment times and letting clients request a booking online.

Taking salon bookings online starts with a clear service list and appointment times customers can actually choose. A booking page can help clients request a slot outside business hours, while you keep control of your services, schedule and payment rules.

This guide is for an independent salon or spa that wants clients to book appointments online. The exact setup depends on your services, opening hours and how you want clients to pay.

1. List the services clients can book

Start with the services that have a predictable duration and price: for example, a haircut, consultation or treatment. Give each service a plain name, a useful description, a price and an appointment length. If a service varies too much to price in advance, explain that clearly and handle it as a conversation or quote instead of presenting a misleading fixed price.

Rasphia supports service listings and appointment availability. A customer or their assistant can find a listing, check its available times and request a slot. The business still needs to keep its services and working hours current.

2. Set your opening hours and availability

Choose the days and hours you accept appointments, then check that the times shown to a customer match your real schedule. Add breaks or other commitments where the calendar supports them. Before sharing the page, try a few dates, including a day you are closed and a time that should already be taken.

An online calendar is only useful when someone maintains it. Decide who will update hours when staff are away or a service is unavailable. If you sync another calendar, confirm that the connection is active and that a test appointment appears where you expect it.

3. Choose how clients pay

For services that happen at the salon, you can allow customers to book and pay when they arrive. If you want online payment, connect a payment route first: Rasphia supports a seller's own Razorpay account or direct UPI, where the business confirms the payment. The available choices and confirmation steps differ, so explain them before a client books.

Do not describe a booking as paid until the payment provider or business has confirmed it. Tell clients whether they will pay online or at the salon, and state your cancellation policy where they can see it.

4. Test the journey as a client

Open the public business page in a private browser window. Find a service, check a future date, select an available time and follow the booking steps. Confirm that the service name, duration, price, time zone and payment instructions are clear on a phone screen.

If the listing requires online payment, complete a test in the provider's supported test mode before launch. If you cannot run a test payment, publish only after you have confirmed the live payment setup and know how to check payment status. Never ask customers to send a UPI PIN or card details in a message.

5. Keep the page useful

Review your services and hours whenever prices, staff or availability change. Put the address and contact route somewhere clients can find them. After a booking, make sure you know where to check its status and how to contact the client if plans change.

Online booking can reduce the back-and-forth needed to find a time. It does not replace a clear service menu or an accurate calendar. Start with a few services, test the full booking journey and expand once the routine works for your salon.
