How to sell digital downloads from your own business page
A step-by-step guide to listing a digital product, attaching the file and delivering a private download after payment.
To sell a digital download, describe what the buyer gets, set a price, attach the file and make sure payment is ready before you publish. A buyer should be able to understand the format and contents before paying, then find their download after the payment is confirmed.
This guide is for creators selling a finished file such as a PDF, ebook, image pack or audio track. It does not cover software licensing or a subscription library.
1. Prepare the product
Choose a clear product name and explain what is included, which file formats are supplied and any limits on use. If the download is a workbook, state whether it is printable; if it is a template, say which software it works with. Use an image that represents the item without promising something the file does not contain.
Keep a final copy of the file ready to upload. Rasphia's seller page accepts up to five files per digital listing, with a maximum size of 100 MB per file. Supported formats include PDF, ZIP, EPUB, common Office documents, images, audio and MP4 video. Check the upload screen for the current accepted types before preparing a large batch.
2. Create a digital listing
In your business catalog, add an item and choose the digital kind. Fill in its title, description and price. Add the file under “Files the buyer receives.” These files are stored privately; they are not meant to be public preview links.
Before selling a paid digital item, choose and set up an online payment method. Rasphia supports the business's connected Razorpay account or UPI, where the seller confirms each payment. Paid digital items cannot use pay-on-arrival. Check the payment settings and make sure the route you intend to use is active before making the listing live.
3. Check the buyer's delivery
After payment is confirmed, Rasphia creates a private download link for the buyer. The current implementation limits a download grant to 10 downloads over 30 days. The buyer can find their files from their orders. A full refund revokes the download access.
Before launch, place a small test order if your payment provider offers a supported test mode. Confirm the order reaches its paid state, the buyer sees the order and the file opens from the private link. Also check what happens when a payment is still pending; the buyer should not be told they have a completed purchase before confirmation.
4. Make the listing easy to trust
Tell buyers the file type, approximate contents, language and any software they need. State whether they can ask for help and how to do that. Include a short preview image or sample page when you have permission to share one, but do not expose the paid file itself.
Digital goods have different return expectations from physical products. Publish a clear policy and follow the rules that apply to your business. A private link helps control delivery, but it cannot prevent a buyer from copying a file after downloading it.
5. Keep the file current
If you replace a file, say what changed and whether existing buyers receive the update. Check that the uploaded version is the one you intend to sell, and keep a backup outside the store. Review the live listing from a phone before sharing it.
Start with one product and complete a real buyer journey from listing to download. Once that works, add more files or products and make the delivery details consistent across your catalog.
